Making a thread people finish
The first post is the only one most people see in their timeline, so put the point of the thread there, not a warm-up. After that, one idea per post is easier to read than a paragraph cut in half, which is why this tool splits at sentence ends rather than at exactly 280 characters.
Numbering helps once a thread runs past three or four posts, because readers can see how much is left. If you'd rather not number, switch it off and the splitter uses the extra room for text.
