What Kleo and Taplio actually do
Kleo started as a free Chrome extension for browsing and saving LinkedIn posts. Founder Jake Ward shut that extension down in June 2025, saying LinkedIn told the company to, and relaunched Kleo as a paid web app. Today you chat with Kleo to draft posts. It learns your writing style, keeps your expertise in a knowledge base and makes graphics to go with each post. A newer Chrome extension saves ideas from any web page into your swipe file.
Taplio is a LinkedIn growth suite. Its AI writes posts using a large database of viral LinkedIn posts, and it can turn content into carousels, schedule posts and report on how they did. It also suggests comments, has a lead database, runs automated DM sequences and has its own Chrome extension. Taplio says more than 12,000 creators and teams use it.

Writing quality and voice
Kleo is built around sounding like you. You describe your brand, it trains on your writing style, it stores what you teach it in a knowledge base, and it saves memories from each post you write. It writes in nine languages, including German, French and Spanish, and ships with 200+ hook templates, 160+ post templates and 170+ example posts.
Taplio says its AI matches your voice, and its model draws on a large library of viral LinkedIn posts. Expect drafts shaped like popular LinkedIn posts, then edit them toward your own habits. On Growth, AI use is capped by a monthly allowance. Pro removes the cap.
Neither tool can make a draft sound like you if you give it nothing to work from. The more of your own material you feed in, such as past posts, notes and transcripts, the closer the drafts get.
Pro tip: Before paying for either, pick three posts you have already published and like. Use them as the test: if a tool's drafts take longer to fix than writing from scratch, it is not saving you time.
Scheduling, analytics and lead features

Kleo includes something Taplio doesn't: weekly live group coaching, a private creator community and video training. For some buyers that matters more than any feature on this list.
Safety and account risk
LinkedIn's User Agreement (section 8.2) says members must not use bots or other unauthorized automated methods to access LinkedIn, add contacts, send messages, or comment on, like or share posts. Any tool that sends connection requests or DMs for you works close to that line, however carefully it paces the activity.
Taplio's Pro plan includes automated outreach, which Taplio describes as safe, human-paced sequences that protect your account. That is Taplio's claim, not LinkedIn's. If your income depends on your LinkedIn account, weigh that before you switch automation on.
Kleo's history is relevant too. Its original extension was shut down in June 2025 after LinkedIn objected to it. The current app says it does not automate posting or perform actions on your LinkedIn account, although it does offer LinkedIn scheduling. Kleo's public pages don't say whether that scheduling uses LinkedIn's official API, so ask before you connect.
Pro tip: When you connect any scheduler, watch the address bar. A redirect to linkedin.com asking you to approve permissions means the tool uses LinkedIn's official sign-in (OAuth). Typing your LinkedIn password into the tool itself is a warning sign.
Kleo vs Stanley
Stanley is a LinkedIn AI coach from the team behind Stan.store, launched in 2026. It writes posts in your voice, can interview you to pull out ideas, analyzes your recent posts and sends weekly coaching emails. Reviews updated in August 2026 list one plan at $149/month; check Stanley's site for the current price.
Kleo is cheaper at $99/month and includes scheduling and graphics, which AuthoredUp's review says Stanley lacks. Stanley puts more weight on reviewing how your own posts perform. Choose Stanley if feedback is what you are missing, and Kleo if you want writing and publishing in one place.
Kleo vs MagicPost
MagicPost is a LinkedIn tool with AI post writing, carousels, AI visuals, scheduling, analytics and lead detection. Its pricing page offers a free trial with no card and says it connects through LinkedIn's official API. As of September 2026, its Creator plan, the one with unlimited AI posts, costs $468 a year on annual billing.
That is well under half of Kleo's annual price, with more features on paper. Kleo's case rests on its voice training, knowledge base and coaching. If you don't want the coaching, MagicPost is the better deal. If you do, Kleo can justify the difference.
When neither fits: a cheaper option
Plenty of people comparing Kleo and Taplio want AI help with a few LinkedIn posts a week and balk at paying $69 to $99 a month for it. A smaller tool is fine for that.
