How does CannerAI connect to LinkedIn?
CannerAI uses LinkedIn's official OAuth 2.0 authentication flow. When you connect your LinkedIn account, you're redirected to LinkedIn's secure login page. You enter your credentials directly into LinkedIn, CannerAI never sees your password. LinkedIn then grants CannerAI a limited access token that allows us to perform only the specific actions you authorize (like publishing posts). This token cannot be used to access other LinkedIn features or personal data you haven't explicitly approved.
Does CannerAI store my LinkedIn password?
No. We never store, request, or have access to your LinkedIn password. OAuth 2.0 is specifically designed to avoid password sharing. Your password stays private between you and LinkedIn. CannerAI only stores the access token that LinkedIn issues, which has limited permissions and can be revoked at any time from your LinkedIn account settings.
What data does CannerAI access?
CannerAI requests minimal scopes from LinkedIn and X. For LinkedIn, we request permission to publish posts and view basic profile information. For X, we use OAuth 2.0 PKCE flow and request read and write permissions for tweets. We never request access to private messages, connection lists, or password data. Only the data required to deliver our scheduling service—like your posts and publishing history—is accessed and processed by CannerAI.
Does CannerAI violate LinkedIn's Terms of Service?
No. CannerAI is fully compliant with LinkedIn's Terms of Service. We use LinkedIn's official API and OAuth authentication,the same methods LinkedIn provides to third-party developers. We do not scrape LinkedIn's website, do not automate clicks, and do not use undocumented APIs. LinkedIn's terms explicitly permit approved third-party apps to integrate via OAuth. CannerAI uses the authorized Linkedin integration.
How does CannerAI connect to X (Twitter)?
CannerAI uses X's OAuth 2.0 PKCE (Proof Key for Code Exchange) flow to connect to your X account. This is the most secure OAuth implementation available. Like LinkedIn, you log in directly to X,we never see your password. X issues us an access token with limited permissions. The PKCE flow adds an extra layer of security by preventing certain types of token interception attacks, making it ideal for protecting user accounts on publicly accessible applications.
Can CannerAI get my LinkedIn account suspended?
No. CannerAI cannot get your LinkedIn account suspended because we use OAuth, not cookie scraping or click automation. Cookie scrapers and bots that automate clicks (like browser automation tools) violate LinkedIn's terms and can trigger account suspension. CannerAI integrates via LinkedIn's official API, which is designed and monitored by LinkedIn themselves. Using the official API is the safest way to integrate with LinkedIn,it's the same method LinkedIn recommends and LinkedIn explicitly audits for compliance.
How is my data protected?
CannerAI uses enterprise-grade security across all layers of our platform. Payment processing is handled by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS compliant and never stores credit card details on our servers. User authentication is managed by Clerk, a zero-trust authentication platform. Your data is stored in a secure database with encryption at rest. All communication between your device and CannerAI's servers is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3. Access tokens are stored securely and are not accessible by other users or unauthorized personnel.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. You can request complete deletion of your data at any time. Visit your account settings in CannerAI and select "Delete Account." This will permanently delete all your data from our systems, including your access tokens, scheduled posts, and user profile information. You can also disconnect individual platform accounts (LinkedIn or X) without deleting your entire CannerAI account. All deletion requests are processed within 30 days.
